One month down...

Hi.  This is Cassidy.  Rosanna's at work, and I thought I'd do a combination surprise her/update you all with a new blog about what we're up to as we live our life together. (There are a handful of links spread throughout the post, some are directly related to the topic and add context, others not so much.  I just like making links.  Enjoy the additional content.)

And there has been a lot going on.

But I'll start from the beginning.

Rosanna and I got married.  And it was fantastic.  We had so many friends and family there that we hadn't seen in so long, we could barely keep up with the excitement of every minute of that day.  We really love you all.  But I digress.

We got married.  And we went to Catalina Island for our honeymoon...

...and Rosanna was gorgeous as usual...

...and we enjoyed lazy beach life for a couple days...

...and appreciated the beauty of everything God had to offer...

...and I skipped rocks...

...and we loved each other (just like always).

It was a pretty little town...

...with a lot of pretty little things to look at.

And there was also Guitar Hero.

...and yes that's a 4x multiplier.

Moving on.

We did one touristy thing by doing some fish watching.

Apparently they have learned that "boats" mean "food", so they tend to swarm a little.

And to finish off the day, Ro made sand drip castles.  (I know, you wish you were us)

All to be finished off with a surprise helicopter ride back to the mainland, ...

After a few days of rest, relaxation, and reinventing our relationship (I like alliteration), we came back home, which is weird, because it was technically Rosanna's home and I moved in, so there's some getting used to things.  Like new animals that sleep (and bite) at my feet.

But it turns out we're both really good at adjusting to new situations.  And apparently we use food to make these changes easier.

She made me confetti cup cakes.

I've cooked and tossed all sorts of stuff in our new wok (thanks Tim).

Rosanna surprised me with a DIY sushi night.

And even when we go easy one night and order pizza, I come home from work the next night to find out she made a frittata out of the leftovers.  Amazing.

Of course, there's been some interesting events too, like the time I heard the crack of thunder like it was right behind my head, and then 10 minutes later fire trucks show up to put out the fire next door.

And then of course, Rosanna finally decided that now was the right time to get her third tattoo.

This is the half finished progress.  We'll get a finished picture up once it's fully healed.  It says "cu tuttu cuore" and is Sicilian for "with all your heart".  The reason for its creation right now is to be the constant reminder of whatever she does, to always do it with all her heart.  Similar to the passage "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength", life is a gift and deserves our full attention and effort, so whatever we do, if it's worth doing, we should do it with all our heart.

But it's honestly been an experience so far that I really couldn't have imagined.  I knew that Rosanna loved me before we were married, but coming home each day from work, or waking her up when I leave (she gets to sleep in a lot more than I do), and always seeing joy in her eyes just because she's married to me blows my mind every day.  And going through that every day for a month is a pretty great place to be in.

We were given some great advice just before we left Tennessee for the wedding.  To sum it up, every day, we are to love Jesus a little more than we love each other, and we each should have a goal of out serving the other.  And every day, we try to do just that.

It's working out pretty well so far.

I hope that we can continue to update and encourage you with these occasional posts so that you will at least be able to stay somewhat up to date with this odd and exciting new life we've started.
